Abstract: The project can be a prototype for booking railway tickets through mobile devices. The system can take input as source, destination, date, type of ticket and number of tickets required. These details can be processed by a remote server which can output a message to the user’s mobile phone.The server gateway can be based on the connection between a single PC and a GSM Modem, and the client application can be programmed by J2ME which can receive and sends short messages.
